I'm a Musician. It's in my soul.
They say music runs in families, and I can attest to that. I was raised with a father who could play anything by ear on the piano, and a mother who wrote beautiful songs. My aunts and uncles sang and played music, and many of my cousins are, well . . . gifted.
Me, I wrote from the heart, about my life and experiences. Rock of the 50's and 60's tuned my soul. The Beatles and Stones, Simon and Garfunkel, James Taylor, Joni Mitchell, Alan Parsons . . . I love music that has a strong melody, one that sticks.
Lyrically, I'm wherever I need to go.
I learned some fast finger picking, much influenced by Leo Kottke who played at the Scholar Coffee House in Minneapolis where I went to college. 50 cents admission.
My songwriting spans about 40 years (OMG!) but I'm still digging within me to find new sounds. You'll hear quite a bit of my current work by listening to the Wildesmith Sampler click here.
Otherwise, explore. I'm updating this area regularly, and will be adding new songs as we go. I'm sorting my way through the new music delivery systems and you'll be able to purchase more of my songs as soon as its all in place.
And if there's any music producer out there who likes what you hear, contact me.
Mostly, thanks for listenin'. Wildesmith
